The agency created this log in conjunction with the preparation of Intelligence Reports based on documents captured by the United States Army and Marine Corps during the October 1983 invasion of Grenada. |
Scope & Content Note: |
This series consists of a log that contains fields that are useful to find Grenadan records. They are: microfiche number, date of the information, title, keywords [including author and recipient(s)] and geopolitical country identifiers. Also available in the documentation is "Grenada Documents: An Overview and Selection" by Michael Ledeed and Herbert Roverstein. It provides an introduction to the Communist movement in Grenada, and full text reproductions of selected seized documents. |
Access Restrictions: |
Unrestricted |
General Note: |
NARA does not hold the Intelligence Reports. NARA has the series, "Seized Grenadan Records, 1983-1985" on microfiche, and this log can serve to find documents in that series. Approximately 10 percent of the indexed records referred to by the Intelligence Reports about captured records were not on the microfiche transferred to NARA. The agency used "Intelligence Report Indexing System" and the acronym "IRISA" to refer to these records. The meaning of the acronym is unknown.
